Rasmussen and three other Danes crossed the border into Mexico and headed to a strip club. He described the atmosphere as “crazy.” The other lads headed back to the hotel in San Diego before 10 p.m., but Rasmussen decided to stick around to see what would happen next.

“There was a guy standing on a corner. He said, ‘Hey amigo, let’s have a beer together,’” Rasmussen recounted.

Perhaps the warning bells in Rasmussen’s head were offline due to maintenance?
